Midwifery Services

Some Luton and Dunstable midwife appointments take place at our Centre in Batford, they also offer Parent Craft classes at Harpenden Memorial Hospital. Your Midwife will let you know about these services.

Pregnancy Club

Held at Redbourn and Villages Children’s Centre, this rolling programme includes health in pregnancy, life wth a newborn, life after childbirth and support available once your baby is born. On the third Monday of each month. Email to book your free place.

TENS machines

Available to hire for £20 (£50 deposit). We recommend hiring one for about a month and collecting a few weeks before you are due.

Vitamins for children, pregnant and breastfeeding mums

Pick up free NHS Healthy Start vitmains from your Children’s Centre.  NHS Healthy Start Vitamins are recommended for all under-fives and pregnant and breastfeeding women.  They are provided by Hertfordshire County Council free of charge to Hertfordshire families.  See our vitamins web page.

Safer Sleep for Babies

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is the sudden unexpected death of a baby.  The safest place for a baby to sleep , under the age of one year, is in a cot, crib or  Moses basket.  See the Safer Sleep for Babies leaflet for things to do to keep your baby safe and things to avoid.

Postnatal Group

A four week course providing an opportunity to meet other parents, covering sleep, my baby and me, minor ailments and resuscitation. Check our what’s on for current dates and email to book your free place.

Introduction to Solids

Current guidelines recommend solids are introduced from around six months. Book one of our free sessions to prepare you and your baby for this exciting next step.

Baby Massage

A five week baby massage course suitable for babies from four weeks to five months. Ensure you are registered with us to receive the latest course dates
